Flight Lines

This exhibition of sculpture, design, photography and moving image explores the politics of urban space through focusing on our closest city-dwelling non-human companion, the pigeon. The show will look at current trends towards the privatisation of public space, and the prevalence of hostile urban design which seeks to limit the way urban space can be used. It will also ask how we might design more caring cities for people and animals alike and will celebrate people who are working towards this goal. The exhibition will feature sculptural work by Debora Davies, design by James Peplow Powell, and photography and moving image by Julius Schreiner, Andrew Brown and Ryan Powell. On display will also be photographs, cyanotypes and a moving image work by people experiencing homelessness made during a series of creative workshops run in partnership with Crisis.
