Are you interested in working in the film/TV industry...?

A ZOOM Camera Trainee

ZOOM is an entirely FREE scheme for those who are interested in seeking a career in the film/TV industry.

It includes:

  • 6 weeks of practical filmmaking training with production of a short film
  • A high-calibre industry mentor
  • Accreditation (Open College Network credits in Film Production Techniques)
  • A programme of masterclasses and networking
  • Work experience opportunities
  • Bespoke career/interview/CV support
  • Travel/childcare costs

Who is it for? You need to:

  1. Live in Tower Hamlets
  2. Be unemployed, low waged and/or claiming some benefits
  3. Be aged over 18

We particularly welcome applications from groups currently under-represented in the industry - those who are BAME, female disabled and/or from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Previous ZOOM trainees have gone on to work placements on prestigious film/TV productions including: STAR WARS EPISODE IX; HOBBS & SHAW, Sally Potter OBE's MOLLY, Idris Elba’s directorial debut YARDIE; MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: FALLOUT; Disney’s new feature PINOCCHIO; along with numerous music videos and commercials.

ZOOM industry mentors have included: BAFTA Breakthrough Brit Ray Panthaki, BAFTA nominated actress, writer and producer Charlie Covell, BAFTA winning editor Kristina Hetherington, BAFTA nominated writer Vinay Patel, award-winning filmmaker Ben Rivers, Femi Oyeniran and Oscar winning producer Mia Bays.
